Margaux sat next to me on the plane out to New York and I bought a copy of 'My Difference' from her.
I must confess the purchase was driven mostly by the fact that Margaux was extremely good company, friendly and very down to earth, however when I finally got round to putting the CD on in the car I was pleasantly surprised and somewhat knocked out by what I heard. The fabulous use of guitar, the distinctive voice and the originality of the songs (so many different influences and such a vibrant mix of pace) make this an album that I have now left in the multichanger and find myself listening to an awful lot.
It grows and grows on you the more you hear it and I truly believe some of the songs worthy of chart success - they are certainly a match for anything being currently released by people like Dido - and considering the production team these artists have to back them up, I would say that is an incredible achievement.
I also logged on to her website and hearing Margaux sing 'My Difference' live with just the acoustic guitar just bolsters my view that she is a real talent to be reckoned with - if I were Chrissie Hynde and heard quality like this, I'd be a very worried woman!
It was a pleasure to meet Margaux and has been more than a pleasure to listen to a fantastic collection of well written, original and in places, haunting songs (I even love 'Ma Différence' and though being typically English and therefore unable to understand a word of any other language but my own, find it beautiful to listen to). Even my eldest son (8) has started singing along, and that is praise indeed!!!

Emerging singer/songwriter Margaux is as happy crafting mellifluously tuneful meisterwerks such as 'Long Days And Lonely Nights' and 'Kaleidoscope, as she is forging her mysteriously inventive sound collages.
Sweet smooch numbers such as the evocative 'Ma Différence', have the uncanny ability to allow her to wrap her warm and gorgeous vocals around the listener's heartstrings, whilst still keeping her sense of pathos healthily in check.
Other more urgent numbers, namely 'Je Ne Sais Quoi' and the English language version 'My Difference' bedazzle and reverberate with their use of a driving rhythmic underbelly.
On 'Desperation' scatterings of electro clash rock guitar synthesize effortlessly with Margaux's pained world-view of modern life, drawing us seductively in before wrenching us away from our delicious slumbers.
'Spooky' with its saturnine evocation of the night soon opens up into cascading harmonies and chiming sound effects, heralding another dimension to Margaux's sultry ethereal voice.
Vocals comparisons with Chrissie Hynde are perhaps inevitable given Margaux's at times similar timbre; however one can't help feel that her all too present literate pop sensibility allows her to explore those more subtle regions of the psyche that the more discerning listener feels compelled to travel to.

Your feedback
I really like your voice and your music although I would prefer a bit more depth in the background (cello or fretless electric bass maybe?) to compliment your sensual voice. Are there any tour dates planned in the southwest of England? I'm a born dutchman living in Devon UK for 4 years and rarely see good acts around here. Love,
Patrick, Devon UK
